Buttercream Frosting

Buttercream frosting is my personal favorite kind of frosting and is my go to for almost any baking project that I do. I manly use buttercream frosting for cake-pops and frosting either a cake or cupcakes. This recipe makes about 4 cups of buttercream frosting.


  • 1 ½ sticks of salted butter at room temperature
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of milk


  • In a Kitchen Aid mixer, slowly combine the butter and sugar. It takes awhile to fully combine, so be patient.
  • Add the milk and vanilla to the mixture. You want it to be smooth, but still be a little firm.
